Einstein said that repeating the same action over and over and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity.
In John Fast's world, the two things which stand as shining examples of insanity are addiction and war.
After spending years in war zones and after over thirty years as a recovering alcoholic, John has come to see the similarities between the stories told by our political leaders as they rationalize and justify their endless wars, and the stories told by chronic drunks all over the world as they rationalize and justify the insanity which is prevalent in their lives.
Why would we, the people of the world, choose to continue following either drunks or fools?
In You Can't Stop Love, John Fast suggests that despite the 'story' we are told, mankind's insanity is a spiritual problem which requires a spiritual (not religious) solution. We can continue to be driven deeper into the insanity of our leader's egos, or we can be guided by the love of our own souls.
You Can't Stop Love offers a summary of the simple and teachable design for living which has been instrumental in restoring millions of people to sanity-people who, in desperation, clearly recognized that they could no longer continue as they had, and then found the courage to do something about it.
John Fast is a father, grandfather, and-great grandfather. His work in the oil and gas sector has taken him all over the world, including several years in various countries throughout the Middle East. His fields of study include international politics, history, and conflict resolution, but he contends that his greatest education came from his years of involvement with members of addiction recovery programs.
His books include You Can’t Stop Love and The 12 Steps to Peace. He has also authored a dark comedy screenplay entitled It’s Great Being Me. All his work focuses on the practical benefits of spiritual transformation. To cite the millions of those in recovery who have personally experienced such a transformation: “If a bunch of drunks can be restored to sanity and become the most loving and peaceful people in the world, why can’t we all?”
“The most radical act in a world addicted to power and control is choosing love.
